When we were assigned to type an essay for class in which needed to be “double-spaced”, i thought the teacher LITERALLY meant DOUBLE-SPACED (as in hitting the “Space-key” twice. See, she never really acknowledged or showed us what double-spaced meant, but for some reason almost everyone else knew what it was. For example:
